You could say Sky Built is more than a business. It’s a dream fulfilled. Meet Sky Built co-founders Steve and Cassidy Young.

Steve has been in the trades since he was in high school. His father would tinker in a garage workshop and Steve was quick to pick up the craft himself. He later would go on to work odd jobs that provided outlets for hands-on learning and growth. After college he found himself back in the industry and later in a different role, this time as a business owner.

Sky Built reflects hard work and even hard lessons at times learned along the way. What started out as a small, side business in 2015 turned into a full-fledged operation in a few years. The scope of the business has grown at the same time. Steve started with primarily doing kitchen and bathroom remodels before broadening the scope to include outdoor projects, such as decks.

Steve’s business and life partner, Cassidy, had a different experience growing up — one that’s equally valuable to the success of Sky Built. After growing up in Fort Wayne, Ind. on a farm, she attended college at Purdue University. Her career took in her a few directions before she ended up helping Steve start the business. The consummate working mother, she helps Steve with operations while raising their three children.

While Steve understands construction inside and out, it’s Cassidy who has the superpowers when it comes to connecting with people on a personal level. She’ll tell you job No. 1 is to sit down with customers to understand their needs and values. She brings a calm and caring demeanor to each interaction.
